This woodland theme was designed for Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Athens, AL to accomplish a couple of goals. First, we wanted to bring the feeling of the outdoors into the indoors. Every wall in the check-in station and down the hallway features 3-D tree elements, painted and airbrushed murals of rolling hills, landscapes and misty skies. The second thing the theme needed to accomplish was incorporate the outside settings of several Bible stories which were showcased down the long hallway. Even though we seemed to be working with two completely different themes, they flowed together seamlessly and each one enhanced the other.

The sign-in area welcomes kids with inviting play structures. A themed slide can be seen when immediately coming through the doors and a stone well sits beside waiting to be climbed through. The theme also features forest props, 3-D animal sculptures and murals and animal character wood cutouts.

Down the hallway, kids can follow Bible stories such as Noah’s Ark, The Lost Sheep, Moses and Zacchaeus in the Sycamore tree. Stories lead to classrooms and to the Worship Area so children do not simply look at stories but feel like they are inside them as well. A very effective way to teach and learn.
